One day Petey decided to enter the hot reality show “Fearless Factor”, where contestants do horrifying stunts for cash. “Not only will I get money, but I will get nation-wide exposure, and get some sort of awesome job or wife. No matter what happens, I’m a winner!” As the first stunt started, the host Joe Jones showed them what it entailed. “We will send you down the pool with a bag full of blood that has a leak. There are starving sharks in the pool. If you can survive this for 30 seconds, you will move on to the next round. Petey, your name was drawn first.” Petey took his bag, went into the pool, and was being chased by sharks. “I can do this! I am a strong monkey!” He swam, literally for his life, and made it to the 25 second mark. He felt a sharp pain in his leg. He was having a muscle cramp, as he was not used to swimming. He tugged for dear life to the rope that was to alert the people that he needed to be lifted out of the water. Joe Jones, meanwhile, was interested in one of the female contestants, and made nary a thought to Petey’s call for help. The sharks made it to their passed-out, mid-day snack. “It’s been 30 seconds. Let’s get him out.” They lifted a skeleton out of the pool. “I guess I should have told him it was a non-elimination round….” Joe said.
Moral: Not all challenges “taste just like chicken”.
