According to the latest ASOS Brigade episode on Youtube, Bang! Zoom, the dubbing company that did the first series of Haruhi, will be dubbing and releasing Haruhi 1.5, or "How I Learned to Stop Sanity and Love the Endless Eight" stateside, presumably with Ban Dai. This doesn't make up my general dissinterest with the company, but then again, if Haruhi 1.5 managed to have been better then I would totally by fanboying out at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy that its getting released. I'm also stoked that they are going to dub it, given Ban Dai's latest track record. Its just that Haruhi 1.5 just didn't have the same feel of the original series and that aside from Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and Most of Sighs, the series just kind of fell flat on its face.
The ASOS brigade video asked the Director "When will the DVDs be out?" and the video conviniently messes up during his answer. Cristina Vee, who is posing this time as the RL Haruhi...who also sang a dubbed version of "Super Driver" which made me feel very weird, asked the director if "she could try out to be a voice in the series". Both of these prove that Haruhi will be out on DVD and that it will be dubbed. The video in question is located in the Anime News Network article.
Now the question is how they will handle the infamous Endless Eight. Sure, they can do a literal translastion, but wheres the fun in that? While that is probably the road they will take, it would be fun to see the characters swap voice actors or see something totally off the wall happen. THAT would make the set in and of itself worth collecting and be a suitable peace offering from Ban Dai. But we will see.
Also, a new Negima anime episode was announced. As well as a movie in the works, I hope this means that they are building up steam and release a GOOD anime series. I hope.
I don't know when I will be able to watch "Vanishment", but I will report as soon as I can on it.
