For one thing, I was watching Pani Poni Dash, and that show has made me laugh here and there. Nothing special, but better than most. I was laughed out by the second episode. I say this, but I don't think that's entirely it.
I downloaded the latest episode of Haruhi Suzumiya. Right now they are animating the short story "Endless Eight" which is basically like the Movie "Groundhogs Day", but with a summer theme. I might review it later, but bear in mind that this is a multi-part episode....for a story that doesn't even have chapters....
So I'm watching the third iteration of this episode. The dialogue is nearly identical, the scenes are looping, and....its like if I were to tell you the joke, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!" Then I poke you in the arm a week later, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!". Then I poke you in the arm a week later, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the opposite side!". Then I poke you in the arm a week later, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the different side!". Then I poke you in the arm a week later, "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!". Just like that.
Anyways, I laughed at the episode most of the time. The dialogue was predictable, I knew what was going to happen, and I remembered the specifics. I was laughing at something that was, more or less, the same joke being told to me. Laughing. Hard. Then I saw a person link this video from Youtube, which may be featured on here in the future, and I lost it.
Could it be insomnia? Might it be the generic brand Tylenol I took? Might it be the oddly flavored cheese and Gatorade I had prior to the viewing? The overindulgence in ice cream with excess chocolate sauce? Maybe I was trying to forget the annoyance of work?
The point is that none of this stuff is funny in the least, yet I am laughing. Sometimes I scare myself....
Heh....heh...ha ha ha!!!!!!
Nuts.
