Screwed-Up Fables: The Boy Who Lied Wolf

There was a small villiage in the middle of no place in paticular. I would tell you the name of the villiage, but it doesn't matter because it is not around anymore, and I will tell you why.

It was a prosperous villiage with plenty of vegitation and cattle. The villiage was thriving and sent off papers to be declared a town instead of a villiage.

In this town there was a serious boy named....well, lets call him Howard. He took everything seriously, from local competition of cow tipping to the local entertainment of readings of "The Saga of Petey the Monkey" by some Allengator. Everyone knew him as an upstanding young man who was not only dependable, but could not tell a lie, kinda like George Washington.

One day he ran into the village and said, "Fellow villagers, as I was walking down yonder valley, I spotted a silver wolf who may come into town and destroy our cattle we have grown for all of these years!"

In light of this news, the villagers went to protecting the city, placing guards around the perimeter, shooting anything they saw moving, whether it was the cattle or a human.

Before long, Howard was the only person in town left as the rest of the village was annihilated, all because of his lie.

"April Fools", said Howard after the fact.

Moral of the Story: Sincerity is overrated.
