Ice King, Adventure Time

Bang or Whimper?

That is the question I pose for this year's E3. Will it still be stellar as always, or will it just be ridiculed? Main reason I ask is because of the new "closed to public" stature of the event. Only authorized people can come and go, which really kind of stinks, because I've always wanted to go. Oh well, another dream scratched off my list.

Another reason I am interested is for 4 different games for the Wii/DS I am interested in getting. Those would be Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and Guitar Hero III. I am especially psyched about GHIII. I've always wanted to play it, and hopefully, they will provide the previous songs from I and II to be included or downloaded. More on that on another date, as I am sure I will need material later.

I really hope they release REALLY good tidbits of infor for SSBB. I mean, stages, eh, sure, modes, I'm ok with that, characters, JUST TELL ME IF FREAKING SONIC WILL BE IN IT OR NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and something about online play. I know online play is supposed to be supported, but tp what extent. Will there be tournaments? Buddy lists? Last but not least on my SSBB wish list is a release date. I figure it'll be either November or December (Japan is getting it on Dec. 31 and Europe, September, supposedly.), but I hope it is sooner.

I am just interested in Mario and Zelda. All the above games I am already commited to getting, but these are rabked below the other two. I am scared so Super Mario Galaxy. I put a lot of faith into "Sunshine", and honestly, I was pretty disappointed. That game just didn't feel like the type I want to complete. That is why I am weary of "Galaxy". As for Zelda, they said the sword would be controlled via stylus, and.....I am just not sure if that is a good idea or not. I prefer the good 'ol days where you just had to press a button to make the sword swing. Then again, I was suprised at "Twilight Pincess"'s Wii controller capabilities, so I might be wrong. I still want these two, but not as much as GHII, especially SSBB.

Honorable mentions go to Sonic Rush Adventure and Sonic and Mario at the Olympics. Sadly, I just think, unlike some platform games, Sonic worsens through age. Rush is still going to be 2d, but I am not clammoring to it as much as the others. SMATO sounds promising, but I am afraid that A) this might be taken as "Sorry, but Sonic will not be in Brawl", and/or B) Just will not be the same. Sonic, ideally, would own Mario at speed competitions, and Mario would get kudos to strength. Jumping may be a tie. I am just not sure about it yet. I hope E3 unveils more.

So until we learn more, here is my wish list, in order of what I am wanting:

1) Super Smash Bros. Brawl
2) Guitar Hero III
3) Super Mario Galaxy (tied)
3) Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (tied)
5) Sonic Rush Adventures
6) Sonic and Mario at the Olympics

Good news is that most, if not all of these will be released before the end of 2007. Looks like I won't be as bored during winter break, yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the lameness, non-gamers. Sorry for the Nintendo fanboy-like flair I might be radiating off gamers. I am a Nintendo purist, and will probably stay that way, just because the others do not appeal to me. I wasn't trying to be all "I will do ANYTHING to play these games". I even tried to point out flaws from my point of view, which you may or may not agree with. What are you looking forward to, if anything? Like I said, this is my ideal E3, but I am skeptical about much being presented, as it is private this year. We shall see. We shall see........

Until next time, Wii-play whatever you like.

(I will let you know as soon as I find out if Fuzzy is in or not ;))
