Nerds R Us Vol. 2

No, I have not decided if this is a regular thing or not, or what day to do it. As of now, it is just once a week. So technically I could do one Saturday, then Sunday and take up to 10 days or more off. Hmm.... Anyways, here is your Nerds R Us.

Heroes Synopsis in Short:

This week's Heroes was better than last weeks. Yeah, it could have fared even better with some "Yatta!!!!" action, but it was still eh-ish. Fact: This is the first episode that does not have nor mentions Hiro Nakamura in any way. Even though Masi Oka was not in season one's "Company Man", his character was in a flashback. Here is the manditory need to know things. Sylar is now hanging out with Maya and Miguel Alejandro, and it is hinted he got his TK back. Mama Petrelli is confessing guilty to Kaito's death, but everyone knows it wasn't her. Nathan is supposedly trying to sober up. Matt's father causes sweet little Molly to go into shock. I don't think he's the one killing people. That would be too obvious.

Again, Pushing Daisies is not here, due to tornadic activities last night. Oi. I think the universe hates me.

I will do my best to get Relient K's new album next week with a review. Linkified.

New tracks to give a listen to this week include:

"Centerfold" by J. Geil's Band. This song from the 80's has an awesome sing-along section on the end. Yay!

"Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's. Yes, there are singles and it is on nearly every single album this band has released. I am more partial to the acoustic version on the album "All That We Needed". It is my myspace profile song so give it a listen. A modern song minus the profanity and heavy unable-to-hear lyrics. A rarity is that this song makes me feel multiple emotions, mostly happiness but sadness.

Here is the music video. This has the orchestral background, as the one I talk about does not:

"Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance. I have always enjoyed the more storytelling songs. If you like songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen or most Rush songs, please, listen to this. It does get loud and intense, but it is enjoyable to listen to.

If you are into programming, check out the visual studio web site. If you feel like developing in c#,, c++, j#, or web development, you can download free full versions of this software. All you have to do is activate it is sign in to msn. Nothing to it. All free. Linkified.

Nearly free is a promotion by Microsoft called "The Ultimate Steal". I was weary about telling you guys this, but I have tried it myself. A $60 version of Office 2007 Ultimate from Microsoft. It is official. It is not a scam. You can either download it, or also buy the dvd at added cost (around $20 I think). I have not received my dvd yet, but I downloaded it, and I can say with some confidence that it is the real full deal, and legal. The only catch thus far is that you have to be a college student to get this deal. Just make your user name your college email and you will be in the system before you know it. Linkified.

Video Games:

Switchball: A fun game with a "Marble Madness" feel, mixed with some wicked physics engine. Similar to another game called "Ballance". It is fun and seems to get more challenging. I will warn that the game requires a lot of requirements, but it is worth it to play this platformer. 7/10. Linkified.

Super Mario Galaxy info soon.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

Sorry, no new vids this week, but I hope several will be uploaded this week as the E for All Expo is having a SSBB tournament. Hopefully more new videos will surface this weekend. I will try, keyword try, to upload the good ones hopefully next week, as time permits.

The Dojo this week has not been good. As of Thursday, 4/10. Yeah, not impressed.

And that is it for this week's installment of Nerds R Us. Next week's ought to be more impressive, because I will hopefully have an album review, Super Mario Galaxy thoughts, SSBB vids, and more links. Have a great weekend!
